How to Edit a Word Document Online

Editing a Word document in a browser is straightforward when the editor actually understands .docx structure — headings, formatting, tables and images — rather than just displaying plain text.

Opening an existing .docx file

JTDesigner's Word Studio imports .docx files, including headers, footers, page numbers and embedded images, converting them into an editable, paginated document.

Formatting and document structure

Word Studio supports the formatting you'd expect: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript/subscript, font family and size, text color and highlight, alignment, and links. For structure, it supports headings (H1–H6), paragraphs, bullet and numbered lists, and blockquotes, plus a set of one-click style presets (Title, Subtitle, Heading levels, Quote).

Tables and images

You can insert and resize tables, and insert images with crop, rotate and text-wrap options.

Navigating and annotating a long document

An outline panel reads your document's heading structure so you can jump straight to a section — useful once a document gets long. You can also add comments as you write; these are personal annotations stored with the document for your own reference, not a real-time multi-user collaboration feature.

Exporting — and a note about PDF

Word Studio exports to .docx and plain text (.txt), plus the portable JTProject format. Worth being precise about one thing: there is no dedicated "export to PDF" button. Instead, a print preview renders your paginated document so you can print it, or save it as a PDF, through your browser's own print dialog. If you specifically need an app-generated PDF export button, that's not what Word Studio provides today — the browser print-to-PDF route is what's available.
